Hello, orienteering clubs and orienteers around the worldWarmest Greetings from Finland! This is a short message from Kainuu Orienteering Week's office.We kindly provide for you a little information package about our orienteering week - which is known as the an orienteering and holiday week for the whole family. Our orienteering week is the biggest orienteering week in Finland and it is also the second oldest 4 day orienteering week in the world. Kainuu O-Week has been held annually since the 1966 here in Kainuu in Finland.51st Kainuu Orienteering Week 1-6 July 2018 will be held in Kajaani, FinlandArriving to Kajaani, Kainuu region and FinlandCompetition centre is located only 20 minutes driving from Kajaani city centreCompetition terrain The competition terrain is diverse and hilly which is typical of the Kainuu region. The majority of the terrain is solid ground. The terrain ranges from craggy hillsides with small features to varied forests and vegetation. The greatest variations in altitude are between 40-80 metres. There are also easier and more plane terrains nearby the Competition Centre, and there are small paths and tracks etc. for less demanding categories.

- Open orienteering categories (9 different skill levels)
- Plenty of available accommodation very near the Competition centre (only 20-30 minutes driving time)
- Arriving to Finland, Kainuu region and city of Kajaani is very easy- We have plenty of other things to do in Kajaani and Kainuu area  --> The city of Kajaani --> Vuokatti (Ski-tunnel where you can do XC-skiing also during the summer and great hiking routes in Vuokatinvaara hill area) -> only 30 minutes driving distance from Kajaani --> Angry Birds activity park (Superpark) in Vuokatti -> only 30 minutes driving distance from Kajaani. Perfect place for kids and younger family members! --> Lake Oulujärvi (swimming, canoeing, cruises etc)
